Jackstrap Devlog 06 - Shaolin Poses and Bouncy Ring Ropes
This update explored Shaolin-inspired poses and the first technical ideas for bouncy boxing-ring ropes.
What changed?
- Worked on Shaolin Kung Fu pose references.
- Explored bouncy boxing-ring ropes as an arena interaction.
- Built an early rope version, but it was not satisfying.
What I’m unsure about?
- The first rope implementation moved the whole rope too rigidly.
- A more rope-like solution still needs to be found.
- A possible direction is using Godot 2D skeletons or another deformable setup.
Open questions
- How should the ropes bounce in a way that feels physical and rope-like?
- What is the best technical approach in Godot?
