Jackstrap Devlog 10 - Element Types, Progression, and Outfits
This update defined the first full set of elemental directions and explored how Jack and the playable outfits could progress visually.
What changed?
- Continued defining the elemental attack system.
- Defined the current element list: nature, fire, electricity, rock, water, poison, mecha, and dark.
- Explored how Jack might visually progress during the game.
- Tested ideas such as adding straps behind Jack’s head or changing strap colors.
- Worked on outfit / character ideas.
- Current outfit directions included karate, capoeira, boxing, luchador, and Shaolin Kung Fu.
- Considered limiting the demo to regular Jack plus one extra character, probably Boxer, with hints of the others.
What I’m unsure about?
- The progression system was still not fully defined.
- The exact outfit scope for the demo was still open.
Open questions
- Should Jack gain visible extra straps as he progresses?
- Should progression be shown through strap color changes?
- How many outfits / characters are realistic for the demo?
